Saint Margaret is a parish in the Diocese of the Missouri Valley of the Anglican Church In America (ACA). The ACA in turn is a member of the Traditional Anglican Communion (TAC), the world-wide association of churches that maintain and uphold the essentials of the Catholic faith in its Anglican expression. TAC churches comprise approximately 500,000 people on 6 continents. As Anglicans, we are a branch of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church founded by Jesus Christ. The word "Anglican" refers to our heritage and roots in the Church of England.
We submit to the doctrine, discipline and worship of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church as articulated classically in the Apostles, Nicene and the Athanasian Creeds; and the Ecumenical Councils of the ancient, undivided Church. We uphold historic Catholic faith, Apostolic order, and Evangelical witness as set forth in the 1928 American edition of the Book of Common Prayer and the Anglican Missal.
Our faith is based on the Word of God found in Holy Scripture, as interpreted by the universally accepted Ecumenical Councils held by the whole Christian Church before any divisions took place. We have not changed these essentials to conform to modern, secularizing trends. |
